Essential SSL:
Domain Validation (DV) Certificates are issued only after verifying the person or registrant of the domain name. This is done by using currently established and accepted vetting process, such as an email based validation using information from the WHOIS database. There will be no validation around the validity of the organization behind the website.
Once you purchase a Essential SSL your SSL Certificate is issued electronically (no paperwork needed) and within minutes*; provided the confirmation email has been responded to. You move through the validation process using Web.com UK Account Manager. During this process you are asked to provide specific information to verify registration of the domain only.
Once all validation is complete, the SSL Certificate is issued electronically and is ready for installation on the website. If the site is hosted with Web.com UK, much of this installation process is automated. If the website is not hosted with Web.com UK please contact that provider and if you have a different Web server system click here for more information..

2Encryption is the process of changing data into a form that can be read only by the intended receiver. 256 Bit SSL is also referred to as strong SSL security. The 256 Bit tells users that the size of the encryption key used to encrypt the data being passed between a Web browser and Web server is 256 Bits in size. Because the size of the 256 Bit key is large it is computationally unfeasible to crack and hence is known as strong SSL security.
